WILKINSON COUNTY BEER LAWS
The Board of Supervisors voted in November 1936, for a general election on the allowance of beer and light wine sales. These records can be found in the basement of the Wilkinson County Courthouse in Woodville, Mississippi. The ordinances were found in the Board of Supervisor’s Minute Book J. To assess the basement one must obtain a key from the Sheriff’s Office. The only requirement that Wilkinson County has on the sale of beer is one must apply to the Sheriff of the county to obtain approval for a permit. The Sheriff has the authority to grant or deny the permit. All other ordinances on the sale of beer in Wilkinson County derive from State law.
